Services

FISH services require a referral from the Fairfax County Deptartment of Human Services. Please call at 703 222 0880

  • Finanical Support

    Fairfax FISH provides financial assistance to an individual or family only once a year. Almost all of the aid goes to working families where adults are employed and have demonstrated only a temporary situation wherein they need help. The emergency assistance is to ensure these individuals remain self sufficient. Working with Social Services FISH provides financial aid for rent; mortgage payments; utilities such as electric, water, gas, or heating oil; prescriptions or medical treatments and appliances; gasoline; food; and baby formula and diapers.
  • Food Pantries

    FISH in conjunction with member churchs has six food pantries  located at following churchs.                                * Fairfax Presbyterian Church                                            * Little River United Church of Christ  * Parkwood Bapist                                                              * * Providence Presbyterian Church                                        * Saint Mary's Catholic                                                        * Saint Stephen's United Methodist

     

  • Clothing Closet

    FISH provides a walk-in clothing closet. It is located in the Fairfax Presbyterian Church at 10273 Main Street Fairfax, Va 22030.  It is open to provide clothing on every Tuesday and Thursday from 9:30 am to 12 noon.  It is also open on the first Saturday of the month from 9:30am to 12 noon.  No referral is needed.

  • Transportation

    Transportation is provided for client's to and from medical appointments when necssary.
